Emmymade in Japan is a colourful, fun channel packed with intriguing recipes and foodstuffs. Ever wondered how to make a Raindrop Cake? You can find out on Emmymade in Japan!

A lot of the treats and DIY kits that Emmy tries in her series “Whatcha Eating?” are sent in from viewers from all over the world. It’s fascinating to see what’s out there! Of course, it’s not always great! See “Hamburger in a Can.”. It looks as though it tastes as bad as it sounds!

Another great series is “You Made What?”. In this series, Emmy makes some unusual and interesting recipes such as “JIGGLY Japanese Cotton CHEESECAKE” and “PIZZA BALLOON RECIPE.”

There are also some more traditional recipes on the channel including Emmy’s favourite kimchi and 30-minute pho-ga.

Cooking with Dog is a unique Japanese cooking channel hosted by Francis, the dog!

Next to the host is a very accomplished human chef who demonstrates the Japanese recipes. We don’t know the chef’s name, but along with Francis, they make an excellent team.

The recipes are explained in a voiceover in English and are very easy to follow, suited to the home cook.

Sadly Francis passed away in November 2016. Cooking with Dog started in 2007, so Francis had a long career as a host, and he is missed greatly by all.

The show continues with new videos posted each week. Hopefully one day a new dog will take up the challenge of the host.

The videos show the different personalities of each grandmother, full of life and fun and yet still and contemplative at the same time.

Peaceful Cuisine produces beautiful videos of Japanese and international vegan recipes.

Ryoya Takashima was born in Japan in 1983. When he was 20 he went to Australia to study English and took a job in a café as a chef’s assistant. This was the beginning of his journey into cooking.

On return to Japan he worked for 2 years as a chef in a macrobiotic café. During this time he became interested in raw food and studied at Living Light Culinary Art Institute in California.

He then moved to Tokyo to teach vegan and raw vegan cooking classes. It was also at about this time that Ryoya began producing his recipe videos.

Ryoya believes that “When you live a healthy and vibrant life through vegan lifestyle, others around you will take note and become aware of the value and benefit in adopting this lifestyle.”.He states three reasons for becoming vegan, environmental, animal welfare and health benefits.

He believes it is empowering for people to take control of their own health. However, he does not like to push his viewpoint onto others, preferring to show people through his videos, cooking classes and his own lifestyle that you can eat only plants and be healthy.

In his own words, “I felt it to be my mission to make more people realize how a vegan lifestyle can be one of the key methods in bringing about world peace as we all strive for pursuit of happiness.”.
