Barry Lewis hated cooking, so he started a YouTube cooking channel back in 2011 and called it My Virgin Kitchen. The channel is now called Barry Lewis.

So how did Barry Lewis turn something he hated into something he now loves (well, likes anyway)? By making it fun!

Now thousands of people all over the world are joining in the fun and, inspired by Barry, having a go at cooking themselves.

Barry Lewis posts easy to follow recipes for home-style food that anyone can try. This self-taught cook will have you laughing and learning and hopefully cooking in no time.

Migrationology is a fascinating channel hosted by Mark Weins.

The channel combines Marks two great passions, food and travel. Based in Bangkok, he frequently travels with his wife making videos and writing for his blog about amazing food and travel tips.

His travel guides are hugely popular and well done. They include tips on where to stay, where to eat and how to get around all the cities that he has personally visited, invaluable advice from someone who has been there.

Elise makes easy to follow tutorials that are perfect if you are making a birthday cake for a children’s party or any celebration. The cakes look difficult, but with Elise’s detailed instruction and simple ingredients, they are very achievable at home.

It’s no wonder My Cupcake Addiction is so popular.

Emmymade in Japan is a colourful, fun channel packed with intriguing recipes and foodstuffs. Ever wondered how to make a Raindrop Cake? You can find out on Emmymade in Japan!

A lot of the treats and DIY kits that Emmy tries in her series “Whatcha Eating?” are sent in from viewers from all over the world. It’s fascinating to see what’s out there! Of course, it’s not always great! See “Hamburger in a Can.”. It looks as though it tastes as bad as it sounds!

The Easy Vegan is light-hearted channel full of humour and fun.

As well as being hugely entertaining, host Jules also has a serious reason for making his videos.

After learning about the animal farming industry and how it can affect the environment and health Jules decided to eat a vegan diet.

Changing the way you eat can be daunting, and Jules was worried he would have to eat “mung beans and quinoa”! After experimenting in the kitchen he realised that vegan food was delicious and satisfying and surprisingly easy to make.

Helens Kitchen is a wonderful channel hosted by the very entertaining and knowledgeable Helen Rennie.

Helen always had a love of food and no matter what path she took in life she always came back to food. She trained at Casablanca Restaurant and eventually began teaching cooking classes at the Cambridge Center for Adult education. Helen clearly has a talent for both cooking and teaching and in 2005 she opened her own cooking school that she runs out of her home in Boston.

Her style of cooking is grounded in the New England tradition with an eclectic sprinkling of European influences. Included on her channel are a series of skill-based videos that are very useful for the new cook.
